Diveheart Adaptive Diver

AKA: I am a small animal veterinarian with a passion for all kinds of animals. As a child, my dream was to become a marine mammal veterinarian and I have always been fascinated by the underwater world. On dry land I spend lots of time with my partner and our small herd of animals, which includes my service dog Artemis III. He keeps me active and connected to the Canine Companions community that raised him and continues to support us.

Why I became an Adaptive diver: In 2018 I had a disc replacement surgery that changed my life. I went from having a body that mostly cooperated to one that constantly experiences pain and weakness. Physical activity almost always aggravates these symptoms...but not in the water. I had the luck and pleasure of meeting Dale and Debbie at an adaptive sporting fair in 2025 and by the next week I was in their pool. Being in the water provides healing for me, both physically and emotionally. When I dive my pain reduces to its lowest levels and I experience freedom and independence that I can not achieve on land. I feel more whole, more connected, and more peaceful in the water than anywhere else.

I am very excited to be on the board so I can help make experiences like mine possible for even more people.

Favorite Place to Dive: Roatan - it's the only open water destination I have been lucky enough to visit so far!
